Brick Smashing

Breakout created it and Arkanoid perfected it, and now there are many, many games for fans of the brick smashing genre. These are just a few.

Blockbuster - Mindscape released this Breakout-inspired title for the Commodore 64 and the Commodore Amiga.

Alleyway - This launch title for the Game Boy gave Nintendo mascots Mario and Luigi their very own brick smasher.

Off the Wall - Atari Corp. offered this Oriental spin on brick smashing near the end of the Atari 2600's commercial run. This time around the bricks in question belong to an old Chinese wall, a neighbor to the Great Wall, rumored to house evil spirits. A young man by the name of Kung Fu Lu has taken it upon himself to destroy the wall.
