1982's Dig Dug continued Namco's string of arcade success stories. After becoming big in Japan, the game was imported by Atari into the States, where it found even more fans. Shortly after conquering the arcades, the game made its way to many different home systems, again thanks to Atari. Today the game remains a favorite among classic arcade game players. Several sequels have also been produced, though none have come anywhere near matching the original's popularity.
