In each level, you must smash every brick, except the indestructable gold bricks, without losing the ball. The Vaus is destroyed, and you lose a life, every time you let the ball slip by.

Some bricks release capsules when destroyed. When caught, these capsules provide extra powers or other helpful bonuses.

Silver bricks must be hit multiple times to be destroyed. How many times depends on the level, with later levels requiring more hits.
