Princess Rescue is perhaps the most famous Atari 2600 homebrew written in Batari Basic, a programming language designed to make development on the Atari 2600 much easier than when the console was first released.

Limitations both in Batari Basic and in the underlying hardware required some significant redesigns of the levels compared to the original Super Mario Bros.
