The first side-scrolling beat-'em-up arcade game, Kung Fu Master may not be the best or most well known of the genre, but it is an excellent example just the same. Each enemy has his own techniques and personality, especially the boss characters at the end of each level, while the background scenery often provides its own obstacles. And, like any good quarter muncher, the game play is hard enough to keep games short and insane for all but the most skilled players, but fun enough to keep everyone else coming back for another try.
