Commodore 64 Kung Fu Master Review

The Commodore 64 version is arguably just as good as the better-known NES release. It's certainly more detailed, preserving the arcade game's background scenery, which the NES version ditched. The game play is also just as good, from the minions and other obstacles infesting every floor of the temple, to the bosses waiting at every staircase. The only gripe is for the Commodore's single-button joystick, which the developers worked around by using the space bar to switch between punches and kicks. It can be awkward reaching for the space bar when you're also trying to evade enemies, and so most of the time it's easier just to stay with one method of attack. Other than that, however, this version is a solid winner.
