How to Play Moon Patrol

As a member of the lunar police, your assignment is to drive your moon buggy through a course filled with unforgiving terrain and crafty enemies. Your buggy comes equipped with two gun turrets, one for firing straight ahead, the other for firing up into space. Your buggy is also able to jump across unsafe ground. You will need all these abilities plus some good reflexes and maybe a bit of luck to complete the course.

The moon's surface is covered with craters that must be jumped, and rocks that can be jumped or shot. Once in a while you will have to navigate through rolling boulders, and even active volcanoes.

Adding to the natural challenges are enemy tanks and UFO's, all of which will try to shoot or bomb your buggy out of existence. Bomber UFO's will even blast new craters in the ground in front of you, hoping to catch you off guard. Sometimes you will come across mines the enemy has left behind, requiring expert control of jumping and speed to survive. Finally, the occasional rocket will sneak up on your buggy, hoping to blast you from behind.

Twenty-six checkpoints will help you keep track of your progress. Every few checkpoints the game will stop and rate your performance, awarding you bonus points if you come in above average. Once you complete the course, a new, even more dangerous course filled with new challenges awaits you.
