Track and Field Imitations

Track and Field formed the mold for multi-sport video games, and so a whole host of games could be called imitators. However, the games listed here stand out, because like Track and Field they also collect games played during the Summer Olympics.

The Activision Decathlon - It's difficult to say who imitated who, considering The Activision Decathlon was released the same year as Track and Field. Featuring similar game play and almost the same set of sporting events, The Activision Decathlon does an admirable job of bringing the summer games to home systems like the Atari 2600, but unlike Track and Field, it does not use any special controllers. Many joysticks were broken by players trying to conquer the decathlon!

Summer Games - This collection of summer games was named exactly that, and became the first in Epyx's famous Games series for computers and game consoles. Summer Games II also appears in the series.
