While Ikari Warriors doesn't have traditional "levels," each section of the game is capped by an enemy blockade which you must blast apart before continuing. A grenade or tank shell will blow the gate open, but be aware each blockade is mined and guarded by soldiers, who can't always be reached with just the machine gun.
